תהילים כ׳ | Psalm 20

 

לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד
For the conductor, a psalm of David.

 

יַעַנְךָ יְהוָה בְּיוֹם צָרָה יְשַׂגֶּבְךָ שֵׁם אֱלֹהֵי יַעֲקֹב
May the LORD answer you on the day of distress; may the name of the God of Jacob fortify you.

 

יִשְׁלַח עֶזְרְךָ מִקֹּדֶשׁ וּמִצִּיּוֹן יִסְעָדֶךָ
May He send your help from the Sanctuary and support you from Zion.

 

יִזְכֹּר כָּל־מִנְחֹתֶךָ וְעוֹלָתְךָ יְדַשְּׁנָה סֶּלָה
May He remember all your offerings and accept your burnt sacrifice, Selah.

 

יִתֶּן־לְךָ כִלְבָבֶךָ וְכָל־עֲצָתְךָ יְמַלֵּא
May He grant you your heart’s desire and fulfill all your plans.

 

נְרַנְּנָה בִּישׁוּעָתֶךָ וּבְשֵׁם אֱלֹהֵינוּ נִדְגֹּל יְמַלֵּא יְהוָה כָּל־מִשְׁאֲלוֹתֶיךָ
We will sing joyfully of Your deliverance and raise our banners in the name of our God; may the LORD fulfill all your requests.

 

עַתָּה יָדַעְתִּי כִּי־הוֹשִׁיעַ יְהוָה מְשִׁיחוֹ יַעֲנֵהוּ מִשְּׁמֵי קָדְשׁוֹ בִּגְבוּרוֹת יֵשַׁע יְמִינוֹ
Now I know that the LORD saves His anointed; He answers him from His holy heavens with the saving strength of His right hand.

 

אֵלֶּה בָרֶכֶב וְאֵלֶּה בַסּוּסִים וַאֲנַחְנוּ בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ נַזְכִּיר
Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we call upon the name of the LORD our God.

 

הֵמָּה כָּרְעוּ וְנָפָלוּ וַאֲנַחְנוּ קַּמְנוּ וַנִּתְעוֹדָד
They collapse and fall, but we rise and stand firm.

 

יְהוָה הוֹשִׁיעָה הַמֶּלֶךְ יַעֲנֵנוּ בְּיוֹם קָרְאֵנוּ
LORD, save! May the King answer us on the day we call.

 

תהילים ק״ב | Psalm 102

​

תְּפִלָּה לְעָנִי כִּי־יַעֲטֹף וְלִפְנֵי יְהוָה יִשְׁפֹּךְ שִׂיחוֹ
A prayer of the afflicted, when he is faint and pours out his complaint before the LORD.

 

יְהוָה שִׁמְעָה תְפִלָּתִי וְשַׁוְעָתִי אֵלֶיךָ תָבוֹא
Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come to You.

 

אַל־תַּסְתֵּר פָּנֶיךָ מִמֶּנִּי בְּיוֹם צַר לִי הַטֵּה אֵלַי אָזְנֶךָ בְּיוֹם אֶקְרָא מַהֵר עֲנֵנִי
Do not hide Your face from me in the day of my distress; incline Your ear to me; in the day I call, answer me quickly.

 

כִּי כָלוּ בֶעָשָׁן יָמָי וְעַצְמוֹתַי כְּמוֹקֵד נִחָרוּ
For my days vanish like smoke, and my bones burn like glowing embers.

 

הוּכָּה כָעֵשֶׂב וַיִּיבַשׁ לִבִּי כִּי־שָׁכַחְתִּי מֵאֲכֹל לַחְמִי
My heart is stricken and withered like grass, so that I forget to eat my bread.

 

מִקּוֹל אַנְחָתִי דָּבְקָה עַצְמִי לִבְשָׂרִי
Because of the sound of my groaning, my bones cling to my flesh.

 

דָּמִיתִי לִקְאַת מִדְבָּר הָיִיתִי כְּכוֹס חֳרָבוֹת
I am like a desert owl of the wilderness; I have become like an owl among the ruins.

 

שָׁקַדְתִּי וָאֶהְיֶה כְּצִפּוֹר בּוֹדֵד עַל־גָּג
I lie awake and have become like a lonely bird on a housetop.

 

כָּל־הַיּוֹם חֵרְפוּנִי אוֹיְבָי מְהוֹלָלַי בִּי נִשְׁבָּעוּ
All day long my enemies taunt me; those who deride me use my name as a curse.

 

כִּי־אֵפֶר כַּלֶּחֶם אָכָלְתִּי וְשִׁקּוּיִ בִּבְכִי מָסָכְתִּי
For I eat ashes like bread and mingle my drink with weeping.

 

מִפְּנֵי זַעַמְךָ וְקֶצְפֶּךָ כִּי נְשָׂאתַנִי וַתַּשְׁלִיכֵנִי
Because of Your indignation and Your wrath; for You have taken me up and cast me down.

 

יָמַי כְּצֵל נָטוּי וַאֲנִי כָּעֵשֶׂב אִיבָשׁ
My days are like a lengthening shadow, and I wither away like grass.

 

וְאַתָּה יְהוָה לְעוֹלָם תֵּשֵׁב וְזִכְרְךָ לְדֹר וָדֹר
But You, O LORD, sit enthroned forever; Your remembrance endures to all generations.

 

אַתָּה תָקוּם תְּרַחֵם צִיּוֹן כִּי־עֵת לְחֶנְנָהּ כִּי־בָא מוֹעֵד
You will arise and have mercy upon Zion, for it is time to favor her; the appointed time has come.

 

כִּי־רָצוּ עֲבָדֶיךָ אֶת־אֲבָנֶיהָ וְאֶת־עֲפָרָהּ יְחֹנֵנוּ
For Your servants hold her stones dear and have pity on her dust.

 

וְיִירְאוּ גוֹיִם אֶת־שֵׁם יְהוָה וְכָל־מַלְכֵי הָאָרֶץ אֶת־כְּבוֹדֶךָ
So the nations will fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth Your glory.

 

כִּי־בָנָה יְהוָה צִיּוֹן נִרְאָה בִּכְבוֹדוֹ
For the LORD has built up Zion; He has appeared in His glory.

 

פָּנָה אֶל־תְּפִלַּת הֶעָרְעָר וְלֹא־בָזָה אֶת־תְּפִלָּתָם
He has regarded the prayer of the destitute and has not despised their prayer.

 

תִּכָּתֵב־זֹאת לְדוֹר אַחֲרוֹן וְעָם נִבְרָא יְהַלֵּל יָהּ
This shall be written for the generation to come, and a people yet to be created shall praise the LORD.

 

כִּי הִשְׁקִיף מִמָּרוֹם קָדְשׁוֹ יְהוָה מִשָּׁמַיִם אֶל־אָרֶץ הִבִּיט
For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from heaven the LORD beheld the earth,

 

לִשְׁמֹעַ אֶנְקַת אָסִיר לְפַתֵּחַ בְּנֵי תְמוּתָה
To hear the groaning of the prisoner, to release those appointed to death;

 

לְסַפֵּר בְּצִיּוֹן שֵׁם יְהוָה וּתְהִלָּתוֹ בִּירוּשָׁלִָם
That men may declare the name of the LORD in Zion and His praise in Jerusalem,

 

בְּהִקָּבֵץ עַמִּים יַחְדָּו וּמַמְלָכוֹת לַעֲבֹד אֶת־יְהוָה
When the peoples are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.

 

עִנָּה בַדֶּרֶךְ כֹּחִי קִצַּר יָמָי
He has weakened my strength in the way; He has shortened my days.

 

אָמַר אֵלִי אַל־תַּעֲלֵנִי בַחֲצִי יָמָי בְּדוֹר דּוֹרִים שְׁנוֹתֶיךָ
I say, “O my God, do not take me away in the midst of my days; Your years endure throughout all generations.”

 

לְפָנִים הָאָרֶץ יָסַדְתָּ וּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדֶיךָ שָׁמָיִם
Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.

 

הֵמָּה יֹאבֵדוּ וְאַתָּה תַעֲמֹד וְכֻלָּם כַּבֶּגֶד יִבְלוּ כַּלְּבוּשׁ תַּחֲלִיפֵם וְיַחֲלֹפוּ
They will perish, but You will endure; yes, they will all wear out like a garment; like clothing You will change them,

and they will be changed.

 

וְאַתָּה הוּא וּשְׁנוֹתֶיךָ לֹא יִתַּמּוּ
But You remain the same, and Your years will never end.

 

בְּנֵי עֲבָדֶיךָ יִשְׁכּוֹנוּ וְזַרְעָם לְפָנֶיךָ יִכּוֹן
The children of Your servants will dwell secure, and their offspring will be established before You.

תהילים קי״ג | Psalm 113

 

הַלְלוּיָהּ הַלְלוּ עַבְדֵי יְהוָה הַלְלוּ אֶת שֵׁם יְהוָה
Hallelujah! Praise, O servants of the LORD, praise the name of the LORD.

 

יְהִי שֵׁם יְהוָה מְבֹרָךְ מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עוֹלָם
Blessed be the name of the LORD from this time forth and forevermore.

 

מִמִּזְרַח־שֶׁמֶשׁ עַד־מְבוֹאוֹ מְהֻלָּל שֵׁם יְהוָה
From the rising of the sun to its setting, the name of the LORD is to be praised.

 

רָם עַל־כָּל־גּוֹיִם יְהוָה עַל הַשָּׁמַיִם כְּבוֹדוֹ
The LORD is high above all nations; His glory is above the heavens.

 

מִי כַיהוָה אֱלֹהֵינוּ הַמַּגְבִּיהִי לָשָׁבֶת
Who is like the LORD our God, who is enthroned on high,

 

הַמַּשְׁפִּילִי לִרְאוֹת בַּשָּׁמַיִם וּבָאָרֶץ
Who looks down low upon the heavens and the earth?

 

מְקִימִי מֵעָפָר דָּל מֵאַשְׁפֹּת יָרִים אֶבְיוֹן
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap,

 

לְהוֹשִׁיבִי עִם־נְדִיבִים עִם נְדִיבֵי עַמּוֹ
To seat him with princes, with the princes of His people.

 

מוֹשִׁיבִי עֲקֶרֶת הַבַּיִת אֵם הַבָּנִים שְׂמֵחָה הַלְלוּיָהּ
He settles the barren woman in her home as a joyful mother of children. Hallelujah!

 

תהילים קכ״א | Psalm 121

 

שִׁיר לַמַּעֲלוֹת אֶשָּׂא עֵינַי אֶל־הֶהָרִים מֵאַיִן יָבֹא עֶזְרִי
A song of ascents. I lift my eyes to the mountains — from where will my help come?

 

עֶזְרִי מֵעִם יְהוָה עֹשֵׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ
My help comes from the LORD, Maker of heaven and earth.

 

אַל־יִתֵּן לַמּוֹט רַגְלֶךָ אַל־יָנוּם שֹׁמְרֶךָ
He will not allow your foot to falter; your Guardian will not slumber.

 

הִנֵּה לֹא־יָנוּם וְלֹא יִישָׁן שׁוֹמֵר יִשְׂרָאֵל
Behold, the Guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.

 

יְהוָה שֹׁמְרֶךָ יְהוָה צִלְּךָ עַל־יַד יְמִינֶךָ
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade upon your right hand.

 

יוֹמָם הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ לֹא־יַכֶּכָּ וְיָרֵחַ בַּלָּיְלָה
The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

 

יְהוָה יִשְׁמָרְךָ מִכָּל־רָע יִשְׁמֹר אֶת־נַפְשֶׁךָ
The LORD shall protect you from all evil; He shall guard your soul.

 

יְהוָה יִשְׁמָר־צֵאתְךָ וּבוֹאֶךָ מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עוֹלָם
The LORD shall guard your going out and your coming in, from now and forevermore.

 

תהילים קכ״ז | Psalm 127

 

שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת לִשְׁלֹמֹה אִם־יְהוָה לֹא־יִבְנֶה בַיִת שָׁוְא עָמְלוּ בוֹנָיו בּוֹ
A song of ascents, of Solomon. Unless the LORD builds the house, its builders labor in vain.

 

אִם־יְהוָה לֹא־יִשְׁמָר־עִיר שָׁוְא שָׁקַד שׁוֹמֵר
Unless the LORD guards the city, the watchman stays awake in vain.

 

שָׁוְא לָכֶם מַשְׁכִּימֵי קוּם מְאַחֲרֵי שֶׁבֶת אֹכְלֵי לֶחֶם הָעֲצָבִים כֵּן יִתֵּן לִידִידוֹ שֵׁנָא

It is futile for you who rise early and stay up late, eating the bread of sorrow, for He gives sleep to His beloved.

 

הִנֵּה נַחֲלַת יְהוָה בָּנִים שָׂכָר פְּרִי הַבָּטֶן
Behold, children are a heritage from the LORD, the fruit of the womb a reward.

 

כְּחִצִּים בְּיַד גִּבּוֹר כֵּן בְּנֵי הַנְּעוּרִים
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.

 

אַשְׁרֵי הַגֶּבֶר אֲשֶׁר מִלֵּא אֶת־אַשְׁפָּתוֹ מֵהֶם לֹא־יֵבֹשׁוּ כִּי־יְדַבְּרוּ אֶת־אוֹיְבִים בַּשָּׁעַר
Happy is the man whose quiver is full of them; they shall not be ashamed when they speak with enemies in the gate.

 

תהילים קכ״ח | Psalm 128

 

שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת אַשְׁרֵי כָּל־יִרְאֵי יְהוָה הַהֹלֵךְ בִּדְרָכָיו
A song of ascents. Happy is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways.

​

יְגִיעַ כַּפֶּיךָ כִּי־תֹאכֵל אַשְׁרֶיךָ וְטוֹב לָךְ
When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.

 

אִשְׁתְּךָ כְּגֶפֶן פֹּרִיָּה בְּיַרְכְּתֵי בֵיתֶךָ בָּנֶיךָ כִּשְׁתִלֵי זֵיתִים סָבִיב לְשֻׁלְחָנֶךָ
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children like olive shoots around your table.

 

הִנֵּה כִי־כֵן יְבֹרַךְ גֶּבֶר יְרֵא יְהוָה
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD.

 

יְבָרֶכְךָ יְהוָה מִצִּיּוֹן וּרְאֵה בְּטוּב יְרוּשָׁלִַם כָּל־יְמֵי חַיֶּיךָ
The LORD bless you from Zion; may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.

 

וּרְאֵה בָנִים לְבָנֶיךָ שָׁלוֹם עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵל
And may you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel.
