תהילים א׳ | Psalm 1

​

אַשְׁרֵי הָאִישׁ אֲשֶׁר לֹא הָלַךְ בַּעֲצַת רְשָׁעִים וּבְדֶרֶךְ חַטָּאִים לֹא עָמָד וּבְמוֹשַׁב לֵצִים לֹא יָשָׁב
Happy is the man who has not walked in the counsel of the wicked, nor stood in the path of sinners, nor sat in the seat of scoffers.

 

כִּי אִם־בְּתוֹרַת יְהוָה חֶפְצוֹ וּבְתוֹרָתוֹ יֶהְגֶּה יוֹמָם וָלָיְלָה
But his delight is in the Torah of the LORD, and in His Torah he meditates day and night.

 

וְהָיָה כְּעֵץ שָׁתוּל עַל־פַּלְגֵי־מָיִם אֲשֶׁר פִּרְיוֹ יִתֵּן בְּעִתּוֹ וְעָלֵהוּ לֹא־יִבּוֹל וְכֹל אֲשֶׁר־יַעֲשֶׂה יַצְלִיחַ
He shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, that brings forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not wither; and whatever he does shall prosper.

 

לֹא־כֵן הָרְשָׁעִים כִּי אִם־כַּמֹּץ אֲשֶׁר־תִּדְּפֶנּוּ רוּחַ
Not so the wicked! They are like chaff which the wind drives away.

 

עַל־כֵּן לֹא־יָקֻמוּ רְשָׁעִים בַּמִּשְׁפָּט וְחַטָּאִים בַּעֲדַת צַדִּיקִים
Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment, nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

 

כִּי־יוֹדֵעַ יְהוָה דֶּרֶךְ צַדִּיקִים וְדֶרֶךְ רְשָׁעִים תֹּאבֵד
For the LORD knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked shall perish.

 

תהילים י״ט | Psalm 19

 

לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד
For the conductor. A psalm of David.

 

הַשָּׁמַיִם מְסַפְּרִים כְּבוֹד־אֵל וּמַעֲשֵׂה יָדָיו מַגִּיד הָרָקִיעַ
The heavens declare the glory of God, and the firmament proclaims His handiwork.

 

יוֹם לְיוֹם יַבִּיעַ אֹמֶר וְלַיְלָה לְלַיְלָה יְחַוֶּה־דָּעַת
Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.

 

אֵין־אֹמֶר וְאֵין דְּבָרִים בְּלִי נִשְׁמָע קוֹלָם
There is no speech and there are no words; their voice is not heard.

 

בְּכָל־הָאָרֶץ יָצָא קַוָּם וּבִקְצֵה תֵבֵל מִלֵּיהֶם לַשֶּׁמֶשׁ שָׂם־אֹהֶל בָּהֶם
Their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tent for the sun,

 

וְהוּא כְּחָתָן יֹצֵא מֵחֻפָּתוֹ יָשִׂישׂ כַּגִּבּוֹר לָרוּץ אֹרַח
Which is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, and rejoices like a strong man to run his course.

 

מִקְצֵה הַשָּׁמַיִם מוֹצָאוֹ וּתְקוּפָתוֹ עַל־קְצוֹתָם וְאֵין נִסְתָּר מֵחַמָּתוֹ
Its rising is from one end of the heavens, and its circuit to the other end; nothing is hidden from its heat.

 

תּוֹרַת יְהוָה תְּמִימָה מְשִׁיבַת נָפֶשׁ עֵדוּת יְהוָה נֶאֱמָנָה מַחְכִּימַת פֶּתִי
The Torah of the LORD is perfect, restoring the soul; the testimony of the LORD is trustworthy, making the simple wise.

 

פִּקּוּדֵי יְהוָה יְשָׁרִים מְשַׂמְּחֵי־לֵב מִצְוַת יְהוָה בָּרָה מְאִירַת עֵינָיִם
The precepts of the LORD are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of the LORD is pure, enlightening the eyes.

 

יִרְאַת יְהוָה טְהוֹרָה עוֹמֶדֶת לָעַד מִשְׁפְּטֵי יְהוָה אֱמֶת צָדְקוּ יַחְדָּו
The fear of the LORD is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of the LORD are true and righteous altogether.

 

הַנֶּחֱמָדִים מִזָּהָב וּמִפַּז רָב וּמְתוּקִים מִדְּבַשׁ וְנֹפֶת צוּפִים
They are more desirable than gold, even much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the honeycomb.

 

גַּם־עַבְדְּךָ נִזְהָר בָּהֶם בְּשָׁמְרָם עֵקֶב רָב
Moreover, by them Your servant is warned, and in keeping them there is great reward.

 

שְׁגִיאוֹת מִי־יָבִין מִנִּסְתָּרוֹת נַקֵּנִי
Who can discern his errors? Cleanse me from hidden faults.

 

גַּם מִזֵּדִים חֲשֹׂךְ עַבְדֶּךָ אַל־יִמְשְׁלוּ־בִי אָז אֵיתָם וְנִקֵּיתִי מִפֶּשַׁע רָב
Keep back Your servant also from willful sins; let them not rule over me. Then I shall be blameless, and innocent of great transgression.

 

יִהְיוּ לְרָצוֹן אִמְרֵי־פִי וְהֶגְיוֹן לִבִּי לְפָנֶיךָ יְהוָה צוּרִי וְגֹאֲלִי
Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O LORD, my rock and my redeemer.

 

תהילים ל״ד | Psalm 34

 

לְדָוִד בְּשַׁנּוֹתוֹ אֶת־טַעְמוֹ לִפְנֵי אֲבִימֶלֶךְ וַיְגָרְשֵׁהוּ וַיֵּלַךְ
Of David, when he feigned madness before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed.

 

אֲבָרֲכָה אֶת־יְהוָה בְּכָל־עֵת תָּמִיד תְּהִלָּתוֹ בְּפִי
I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.

 

בַּיהוָה תִּתְהַלֵּל נַפְשִׁי יִשְׁמְעוּ עֲנָוִים וְיִשְׂמָחוּ
My soul shall make its boast in the LORD; the humble shall hear of it and be glad.

 

גַּדְּלוּ לַיהוָה אִתִּי וּנְרוֹמְמָה שְׁמוֹ יַחְדָּו
Magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.

 

דָּרַשְׁתִּי אֶת־יְהוָה וְעָנָנִי וּמִכָּל־מְגוּרוֹתַי הִצִּילָנִי
I sought the LORD, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.

 

הִבִּיטוּ אֵלָיו וְנָהָרוּ וּפְנֵיהֶם אַל־יֶחְפָּרוּ
They looked to Him and were radiant, and their faces shall never be ashamed.

 

זֶה עָנִי קָרָא וַיהוָה שָׁמֵעַ וּמִכָּל־צָרוֹתָיו הוֹשִׁיעוֹ
This poor man cried, and the LORD heard him and saved him out of all his troubles.

 

חֹנֶה מַלְאַךְ יְהוָה סָבִיב לִירֵאָיו וַיְחַלְּצֵם
The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear Him, and delivers them.

 

טַעֲמוּ וּרְאוּ כִּי־טוֹב יְהוָה אַשְׁרֵי הַגֶּבֶר יֶחֱסֶה־בּוֹ
Taste and see that the LORD is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in Him.

 

יִרְאוּ אֶת־יְהוָה קְדֹשָׁיו כִּי־אֵין מַחְסוֹר לִירֵאָיו
Fear the LORD, you His holy ones, for those who fear Him lack nothing.

 

כְּפִירִים רָשׁוּ וְרָעֵבוּ וְדֹרְשֵׁי יְהוָה לֹא יַחְסְרוּ כָל־טוֹב
The young lions suffer want and hunger, but those who seek the LORD shall not lack any good thing.

 

לְכוּ־בָנִים שִׁמְעוּ־לִי יִרְאַת יְהוָה אֲלַמֶּדְכֶם
Come, children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the LORD.

 

מִי־הָאִישׁ הֶחָפֵץ חַיִּים אֹהֵב יָמִים לִרְאוֹת טוֹב
Who is the man who desires life and loves many days, that he may see good?

 

נְצֹר לְשׁוֹנְךָ מֵרָע וּשְׂפָתֶיךָ מִדַּבֵּר מִרְמָה
Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit.

 

סוּר מֵרָע וַעֲשֵׂה־טוֹב בַּקֵּשׁ שָׁלוֹם וְרָדְפֵהוּ
Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

 

עֵינֵי יְהוָה אֶל־צַדִּיקִים וְאָזְנָיו אֶל־שַׁוְעָתָם
The eyes of the LORD are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.

 

פְּנֵי יְהוָה בְּעֹשֵׂי רָע לְהַכְרִית מֵאֶרֶץ זִכְרָם
The face of the LORD is against those who do evil, to cut off their remembrance from the earth.

 

צָעֲקוּ וַיהוָה שָׁמֵעַ וּמִכָּל־צָרוֹתָם הִצִּילָם
They cry, and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

 

קָרוֹב יְהוָה לְנִשְׁבְּרֵי־לֵב וְאֶת־דַּכְּאֵי־רוּחַ יוֹשִׁיעַ
The LORD is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.

 

רַבּוֹת רָעוֹת צַדִּיק וּמִכֻּלָּם יַצִּילֶנּוּ יְהוָה
Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the LORD delivers him out of them all.

 

שֹׁמֵר כָּל־עַצְמוֹתָיו אַחַת מֵהֵנָּה לֹא נִשְׁבָּרָה
He guards all his bones; not one of them is broken.

 

תְּמוֹתֵת רָעָה רָשָׁע וְשֹׂנְאֵי צַדִּיק יֶאְשָׁמוּ
Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous shall be condemned.

 

פּוֹדֶה יְהוָה נֶפֶשׁ עֲבָדָיו וְלֹא יֶאְשְׁמוּ כָּל־הַחֹסִים בּוֹ

The LORD redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who take refuge in Him shall be condemned.
