תהילים ז׳ | Psalm 7

​

שִׁגָּיוֹן לְדָוִד אֲשֶׁר שָׁר לַיהוָה עַל דִּבְרֵי כוּשׁ בֶּן יְמִינִי
A shiggaion of David, which he sang to the LORD concerning Cush a Benjamite.

 

יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי בְּךָ חָסִיתִי הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי מִכָּל־רֹדְפַי וְהַצִּילֵנִי
O LORD my God, in You I take refuge; save me from all who pursue me and deliver me.

 

פֶּן יִטְרֹף כַּאֲרִי נַפְשִׁי פֹּרֵק וְאֵין מַצִּיל
Lest he tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces while none delivers.

 

יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי אִם עָשִׂיתִי זֹאת אִם יֵשׁ עָוֶל בְּכַפָּי
O LORD my God, if I have done this, if there is iniquity in my hands;

 

אִם גָּמַלְתִּי שׁוֹלְמִי רָע וָאֲחַלְּצָה צוֹרְרִי רֵיקָם
If I have repaid my ally with evil or plundered my enemy without cause;

 

יִרְדֹּף אוֹיֵב נַפְשִׁי וְיַשִּׂיג וְיִרְמֹס לָאָרֶץ חַיָּי וּכְבוֹדִי לֶעָפָר יָשֵׁב סֶלָה
Then let the enemy pursue and overtake me; let him trample my life to the ground and lay my honor in the dust. Selah.

 

קוּמָה יְהוָה בְּאַפֶּךָ הִנָּשֵׂא בְּעַבְרוֹת צוֹרְרָי וְעוּרָה אֵלַי מִשְׁפָּט צִוִּיתָ
Arise, O LORD, in Your anger; rise up against the rage of my enemies; awake for me; You have ordained justice.

 

וַעֲדַת לְאֻמִּים תְּסוֹבְבֶךָ וְעָלֶיהָ לַמָּרוֹם שׁוּבָה
Let the assembly of nations be gathered around You, and over it return on high.

 

יְהוָה יָדִין עַמִּים שָׁפְטֵנִי יְהוָה כְּצִדְקִי וּכְתֻמִּי עָלָי
The LORD judges the peoples; judge me, O LORD, according to my righteousness and my integrity.

 

יִגְמַר נָא רַע רְשָׁעִים וּתְכוֹנֵן צַדִּיק וּבוֹחֵן לִבּוֹת וּכְלָיוֹת אֱלֹהִים צַדִּיק
Let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous—You who test hearts and minds, O

righteous God.

 

מָגִנִּי עַל אֱלֹהִים מוֹשִׁיעַ יִשְׁרֵי לֵב
My shield is God Most High, who saves the upright in heart.

 

אֱלֹהִים שׁוֹפֵט צַדִּיק וְאֵל זֹעֵם בְּכָל־יוֹם
God is a righteous judge, a God who has indignation every day.

 

אִם־לֹא יָשׁוּב חַרְבּוֹ יִלְטוֹשׁ קַשְׁתּוֹ דָרַךְ וַיְכוֹנְנֶהָ
If one does not repent, He will sharpen His sword; He has bent and strung His bow.

 

וְלוֹ הֵכִין כְּלֵי מָוֶת חִצָּיו לְדֹלְקִים יִפְעָל
He has prepared His deadly weapons; He makes His arrows fiery shafts.

 

הִנֵּה יְחַבֶּל אָוֶן וְהָרָה עָמָל וְיָלַד שָׁקֶר
Behold, the wicked conceive evil, are pregnant with mischief, and give birth to lies.

 

בּוֹר כָּרָה וַיַּחְפְּרֵהוּ וַיִּפֹּל בְּשַׁחַת יִפְעָל
He makes a pit and digs it and falls into the hole he made.

 

יָשׁוּב עָמָלוֹ בְּרֹאשׁוֹ וְעַל־קָדְקֳדוֹ חֲמָסוֹ יֵרֵד
His trouble returns on his own head, and his violence descends on his own skull.

 

אוֹדֶה יְהוָה כְּצִדְקוֹ וַאֲזַמְּרָה לְשֵׁם יְהוָה עֶלְיוֹן
I will praise the LORD according to His righteousness and sing praise to the name of the LORD Most High.

 

תהילים י״ז | Psalm 17

​

תְּפִלָּה לְדָוִד שְׁמַע יְהוָה צֶדֶק הַקְשִׁיבָה רִנָּתִי הַאֲזִינָה תְפִלָּתִי בְּלֹא שִׂפְתֵי מִרְמָה
A prayer of David. Hear, O LORD, my righteous plea; listen to my cry; give ear to my prayer from lips free of deceit.

 

מִלְּפָנֶיךָ מִשְׁפָּטִי יֵצֵא עֵינֶיךָ תֶחֱזֶינָה מֵישָׁרִים
From Your presence let my vindication come; let Your eyes see what is right.

 

בָּחַנְתָּ לִבִּי פָקַדְתָּ לַיְלָה צְרַפְתַּנִי בַל־תִּמְצָא זַמֹּתִי בַּל יַעֲבֹר פִּי
You have tested my heart; You have visited me by night; You have tried me and found nothing; I have resolved

that my mouth will not transgress.

 

לִפְעֻלוֹת אָדָם בִּדְבַר שְׂפָתֶיךָ אֲנִי שָׁמַרְתִּי אָרְחוֹת פָּרִיץ
Concerning what people do by the word of Your lips, I have kept myself from the ways of the violent.

 

תָּמֹךְ אַשֻׁרַי בְּמַעְגְּלוֹתֶיךָ בַּל נָמוֹטוּ פְעָמָי
My steps have held to Your paths; my feet have not slipped.

 

אֲנִי קְרָאתִיךָ כִּי תַעֲנֵנִי אֵל הַט אָזְנְךָ לִי שְׁמַע אִמְרָתִי
I call on You, for You will answer me, O God; turn Your ear to me and hear my prayer.

 

הַפְלֵה חֲסָדֶיךָ מוֹשִׁיעַ חוֹסִים מִמִּתְקוֹמְמִים בִּימִינֶךָ
Show Your marvelous lovingkindness, O Savior of those who seek refuge by Your right hand from their enemies.

 

שָׁמְרֵנִי כְאִישׁוֹן בַּת־עָיִן בְּצֵל כְּנָפֶיךָ תַּסְתִּירֵנִי
Keep me as the apple of Your eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings.

 

מִפְּנֵי רְשָׁעִים זוּ שָׁדָדוּנִי אֹיְבַי בְּנֶפֶשׁ יָסֹבְבוּ עָלָי
From the wicked who oppress me, my deadly enemies who surround me.

 

חֵלֶבָם סָגְרוּ פִּיהֶם דִּבְּרוּ בְגֵאוּת
They have closed their hearts to pity; with their mouths they speak arrogantly.

 

אַשֻּׁרַי עַתָּה סְבָבוּנִי עֵינֵיהֶם יָשִׁיתוּ לִנְטוֹת בָּאָרֶץ
They have tracked me down, they now surround me; they set their eyes to cast me to the ground.

 

דִּמְיוֹ כְאַרְיֵה יִכְסֹף לִטְרוֹף וְכִפִיר יוֹשֵׁב בְּמִסְתָּרִים
He is like a lion eager to tear, like a young lion lurking in ambush.

 

קוּמָה יְהוָה קַדְּמָה פָנָיו הַכְרִיעֵהוּ פַּלְּטָה נַפְשִׁי מֵרָשָׁע חַרְבֶּךָ
Arise, O LORD, confront him, bring him down; deliver my soul from the wicked by Your sword.

 

מִמְּתִים יָדְךָ יְהוָה מִמְּתִים מֵחֶלֶד חֶלְקָם בַּחַיִּים וּצְפוּנְךָ תְמַלֵּא בִטְנָם יִשְׂבְּעוּ בָנִים וְהִנִּיחוּ יְתֵרָם לְעוֹלְלֵיהֶם
From men by Your hand, O LORD, from men of the world whose portion is in this life. You fill their bellies with Your treasure; they are satisfied with children and leave their abundance to their infants.

 

אֲנִי בְצֶדֶק אֶחֱזֶה פָנֶיךָ אֶשְׂבְּעָה בְהֵקִיץ תְּמוּנָתֶךָ
As for me, I will see Your face in righteousness; I shall be satisfied when I awake in Your likeness.

תהילים ל״ה | Psalm 35

​

לְדָוִד רִיבָה יְהוָה אֶת־יְרִיבַי לְחַם אֶת־לֹחֲמָי
Of David. Contend, O LORD, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight me.

 

הַחֲזֵק מָגֵן וְצִנָּה וְקוּמָה בְּעֶזְרָתִי
Take hold of shield and buckler, and rise to my help.

 

וַהֲרֵק חֲנִית וּסְגֹר לִקְרַאת רֹדְפָי אֱמֹר לְנַפְשִׁי יְשׁוּעָתֵךְ אָנִי
Draw the spear and bar the way against those who pursue me; say to my soul, “I am your salvation.”

 

יִבֹּשׁוּ וְיִכָּלְמוּ מְבַקְשֵׁי נַפְשִׁי יִסֹּגוּ אָחוֹר וְיַחְפְּרוּ חֹשְׁבֵי רָעָתִי
Let those who seek my life be ashamed and disgraced; let those who plot my harm be turned back and confounded.

 

יִהְיוּ כְּמֹץ לִפְנֵי רוּחַ וּמַלְאַךְ יְהוָה דֹּחֶה
Let them be like chaff before the wind, with the angel of the LORD driving them away.

 

יִהְיֶה דַרְכָּם חֹשֶׁךְ וַחֲלָקָה וּמַלְאַךְ יְהוָה רֹדְפָם
Let their way be dark and slippery, with the angel of the LORD pursuing them.

 

כִּי חִנָּם טָמְנוּ לִי שַׁחַת רִשְׁתָּם חִנָּם חָפְרוּ לְנַפְשִׁי
For without cause they hid their net for me; without cause they dug a pit for my life.

 

תְּבוֹאֵהוּ שֹׁאָה לֹא יֵדָע וְרִשְׁתּוֹ אֲשֶׁר טָמַן תִּלְכְּדוֹ בְּשֹׁאָה יִפֹּל בָּהּ
May destruction come upon him unawares; may the net he hid entangle him; may he fall into it to his own ruin.

 

וְנַפְשִׁי תָגִיל בַּיהוָה תָּשִׂישׂ בִּישׁוּעָתוֹ
Then my soul will rejoice in the LORD; it will exult in His salvation.

 

כָּל־עַצְמוֹתַי תֹּאמַרְנָה יְהוָה מִי כָמוֹךָ מַצִּיל עָנִי מֵחָזָק מִמֶּנּוּ וְעָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן מִגֹּזְלוֹ
All my bones will say, “LORD, who is like You—rescuing the poor from one too strong for him, the poor and needy from his robber?”

 

יָקוּמוּ עֵדֵי חָמָס אֲשֶׁר לֹא יָדַעְתִּי יִשְׁאָלֻנִי
Malicious witnesses rise up; they ask me things I do not know.

 

יְשַׁלְּמוּנִי רָעָה תַּחַת טוֹבָה שְׁכוֹל לְנַפְשִׁי
They repay me evil for good, to the bereavement of my soul.

 

וַאֲנִי בַּחֲלוֹתָם לְבוּשִׁי שָׂק עִנֵּיתִי בַצּוֹם נַפְשִׁי וּתְפִלָּתִי עַל־חֵיקִי תָשׁוּב
Yet when they were sick, I wore sackcloth; I afflicted my soul with fasting, and my prayer returned to my bosom.

 

כְּרֵעַ כְּאָח לִי הִתְהַלָּכְתִּי כְּאָבֶל אֵם קֹדֵר שַׁחוֹתִי
I behaved as though it had been my friend or my brother; I bowed down in mourning as one who laments his mother.

 

וּבְצַלְעִי שָׂמְחוּ וְנֶאֱסָפוּ נֶאֱסְפוּ עָלַי נֵכִים וְלֹא יָדָעְתִּי קָרְעוּ וְלֹא דָמּוּ
But in my stumbling they rejoiced and gathered together; the abject gathered against me whom I did not know; they tore at me and did not cease.

 

בְּחַנְפֵי לַעֲגֵי מָעוֹג חָרֹק עָלַי שִׁנֵּימוֹ
With ungodly mockers at feasts they gnashed upon me with their teeth.

 

אֲדֹנָי כַּמָּה תִרְאֶה הָשִׁיבָה נַפְשִׁי מִשּׁאֹתָם מִכְּפִירִים יְחִידָתִי
Lord, how long will You look on? Rescue my soul from their destructions, my precious life from the lions.

 

אוֹדְךָ בְּקָהָל רָב בְּעַם עָצוּם אֲהַלְלֶךָּ
I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I will praise You among many people.

 

אַל יִשְׂמְחוּ לִי אֹיְבַי שֶׁקֶר שֹׂנְאַי חִנָּם יִקְרְצוּ עָיִן
Let not those who are my enemies wrongfully rejoice over me; neither let them wink with the eye who hate me without a cause.

 

כִּי לֹא שָׁלוֹם יְדַבֵּרוּ וְעַל רִגְעֵי־אֶרֶץ דִּבְרֵי מִרְמוֹת יַחְשֹׁבוּ
For they do not speak peace, but devise deceitful matters against those who are quiet in the land.

 

וַיַּרְחִיבוּ עָלַי פִּיהֶם אָמְרוּ הֶאָח הֶאָח רָאֲתָה עֵינֵינוּ
They opened their mouth wide against me; they said, “Aha, aha! Our eye has seen it.”

 

רָאִיתָ יְהוָה אַל תֶּחֱרַשׁ אֲדֹנָי אַל תִּרְחַק מִמֶּנִּי
You have seen, O LORD; be not silent; O Lord, be not far from me.

 

הָעִירָה וְהָקִיצָה לְמִשְׁפָּטִי אֱלֹהַי וַאדֹנָי לְרִיבִי
Stir Yourself and awake to my judgment, my God and my Lord, to my cause.

 

שָׁפְטֵנִי כְצִדְקְךָ יְהוָה אֱלֹהַי וְאַל יִשְׂמְחוּ לִי
Judge me, O LORD my God, according to Your righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me.

 

אַל יֹאמְרוּ בְלִבָּם הֶאָח נַפְשֵׁנוּ אַל יֹאמְרוּ בִּלַּעֲנוּהוּ
Let them not say in their hearts, “Aha! We have our desire!” Let them not say, “We have swallowed him up.”

 

יִבֹּשׁוּ יַחְדָּו וְיַחְפְּרוּ שִׂמְחֵי רָעָתִי יִלְבְּשׁוּ בוּשָׁה וּכְלִמָּה הַמַּגְדִּילִים עָלָי
Let those who rejoice at my harm be ashamed and confounded together; let those who magnify themselves against me be clothed with shame and dishonor.

 

יָרֹנּוּ וְיִשְׂמְחוּ חֲפֵצֵי צִדְקִי וְיֹאמְרוּ תָמִיד יִגְדַּל יְהוָה הֶחָפֵץ שְׁלוֹם עַבְדּוֹ
Let those who favor my righteous cause shout for joy and be glad; let them say continually, “The LORD be magnified, who has pleasure in the prosperity of His servant.”

 

וּלְשׁוֹנִי תֶּהְגֶּה צִדְקֶךָ כָּל־הַיּוֹם תְּהִלָּתֶךָ
And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness and of Your praise all the day long.

תהילים ס״ד | Psalm 64

​

לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד
For the conductor. A psalm of David.

 

שְׁמַע אֱלֹהִים קוֹלִי בְשִׂיחִי מִפַּחַד אוֹיֵב תִּצֹּר חַיַּי
Hear my voice, O God, in my complaint; preserve my life from the fear of the enemy.

 

תַּסְתִּירֵנִי מִסּוֹד מְרֵעִים מֵרִגְשַׁת פּוֹעֲלֵי אָוֶן
Hide me from the secret counsel of evildoers, from the tumult of workers of iniquity.

 

אֲשֶׁר שָׁנְנוּ כַחֶרֶב לְשׁוֹנָם דָּרְכוּ חִצָּם דָּבָר מָר
Who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and aim bitter words like arrows.

 

לִירוֹת בְּמִסְתָּרִים תָּם פִּתְאֹם יֹרֲהוּ וְלֹא יִירָאוּ
That they may shoot in secret at the blameless; suddenly they shoot at him and fear not.

 

יַחְזְקוּ לָמוֹ דָּבָר רָע יְסַפְּרוּ לִטְמוֹן מוֹקְשִׁים אָמְרוּ מִי יִרְאֶה לָמוֹ
They encourage themselves in an evil matter; they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, “Who will see them?”

 

יַחְפְּשׂוּ עָוֹת יַתִּמוּ חֵפֶשׂ מְחֻפָּשׂ וְקֶרֶב אִישׁ וְלֵב עָמֹק
They devise iniquities: “We have perfected a shrewd plan!” And the inward thought and heart of man are deep.

 

וַיֹּרֵם אֱלֹהִים חֵץ פִּתְאֹם הָיוּ מַכּוֹתָם
But God will shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly they will be wounded.

 

וַיַּכְשִׁלוּהוּ עֲלֵימוֹ לְשׁוֹנָם יִתְנֹדְדוּ כָּל־רֹאֵהָם
So they shall make their own tongue stumble upon themselves; all who see them shall flee away.

 

וַיִּירְאוּ כָּל־אָדָם וַיַּגִּידוּ פֹּעַל אֱלֹהִים וּמַעֲשֵׂהוּ הִשְׂכִּילוּ
All mankind shall fear and shall declare the work of God; they shall wisely consider what He has done.

 

יִשְׂמַח צַדִּיק בַּיהוָה וְחָסָה בוֹ וְיִתְהַלְּלוּ כָּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב
The righteous shall be glad in the LORD and shall take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart shall glory.

תהילים ק״ט | Psalm 109

​

לַמְנַצֵּחַ לְדָוִד מִזְמוֹר
For the conductor. Of David. A psalm.

 

אֱלֹהֵי תְהִלָּתִי אַל תֶּחֱרַשׁ
O God of my praise, do not be silent.

 

כִּי פִי רָשָׁע וּפִי מִרְמָה עָלַי פָּתָחוּ דִּבְּרוּ אִתִּי לְשׁוֹן שָׁקֶר
For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of deceit are opened against me; they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.

 

וּדְבָרֵי שִׂנְאָה סְבָבוּנִי וַיִּלָּחֲמוּ בִי חִנָּם
They encircle me with words of hatred, and attack me without cause.

 

תַּחַת אַהֲבָתִי יִשְׂטְנוּנִי וַאֲנִי תְפִלָּה
In return for my love they accuse me, but I am prayer.

 

וַיָּשִׂימוּ עָלַי רָעָה תַּחַת טוֹבָה וְשִׂנְאָה תַּחַת אַהֲבָתִי
They have repaid me evil for good, and hatred for my love.

 

הַפְקֵד עָלָיו רָשָׁע וְשָׂטָן יַעֲמֹד עַל־יְמִינוֹ
Appoint a wicked man over him, and let an adversary stand at his right hand.

 

בְּהִשָּׁפְטוֹ יֵצֵא רָשָׁע וּתְפִלָּתוֹ תְהִי לְחַטָּאָה
When he is judged, let him be found guilty, and let his prayer become sin.

 

יִהְיוּ יָמָיו מְעַטִּים פְּקֻדָּתוֹ יִקַּח אַחֵר
Let his days be few; let another take his office.

 

יִהְיוּ בָנָיו יְתוֹמִים וְאִשְׁתּוֹ אַלְמָנָה
Let his children be fatherless, and his wife a widow.

 

וְנוֹעַ יָנוּעוּ בָנָיו וְשִׁאֵלוּ וְדָרְשׁוּ מֵחָרְבוֹתֵיהֶם
Let his children be vagabonds and beg; let them seek bread out of their desolate places.

 

יְנַקֵּשׁ נוֹשֶׁה לְכָל־אֲשֶׁר־לוֹ וְיָבֹזּוּ זָרִים יְגִיעוֹ
Let the creditor seize all that he has; let strangers plunder the fruit of his labor.

 

אַל־יְהִי־לוֹ מֹשֵׁךְ חָסֶד וְאַל־יְהִי מְחֻנָּן בְּיָתוֹמָיו
Let there be none to extend mercy unto him; neither let there be any to favor his fatherless children.

 

יְהִי אַחֲרִיתוֹ לְהַכְרִית בְּדוֹר אַחֵר יִמַּח שְׁמָם
Let his posterity be cut off; and in the generation following let their name be blotted out.

 

יִזָּכֵר עֲו‍ֹן אֲבֹתָיו אֶל־יְהוָה וְחַטַּאת אִמּוֹ אַל־תִּמָּח
Let the iniquity of his fathers be remembered before the LORD, and let not the sin of his mother be blotted out.

 

יִהְיוּ נֶגֶד יְהוָה תָּמִיד וְיַכְרֵת מֵאֶרֶץ זִכְרָם
Let them be before the LORD continually, that He may cut off their memory from the earth.

 

יַעַן אֲשֶׁר לֹא זָכַר עֲשׂוֹת חָסֶד וַיִּרְדֹּף אִישׁ עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן וְנִכְאֵה לֵב לְמוֹתֵת
Because he remembered not to show mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy man, that he might even slay the brokenhearted.

 

וַיֶּאֱהַב קְלָלָה וַתְּבוֹאֵהוּ וְלֹא חָפֵץ בִּבְרָכָה וַתִּרְחַק מִמֶּנּוּ
He loved cursing, and it came unto him; he delighted not in blessing, and it was far from him.

 

וַיִּלְבַּשׁ קְלָלָה כְּמַדּוֹ וַתָּבֹא כַמַּיִם בְּקִרְבּוֹ וְכַשֶּׁמֶן בְּעַצְמוֹתָיו
He clothed himself with cursing as with his garment, and it entered into his body like water, and like oil into his bones.

 

תְּהִי־לוֹ כַּבֶּגֶד יַעְטֶה וּלְמֵזַח תָּמִיד יַחְגְּרֶהָ
Let it be unto him as a garment which covers him, and for a girdle with which he is girded continually.

 

זֹאת פְּעֻלַּת שֹׂטְנַי מֵאֵת יְהוָה וְהַדֹּבְרִים רָע עַל נַפְשִׁי
This is the reward of my adversaries from the LORD, and of those that speak evil against my soul.

 

וְאַתָּה יְהוָה אֲדֹנָי עֲשֵׂה אִתִּי לְמַעַן שְׁמֶךָ כִּי טוֹב חַסְדֶּךָ הַצִּילֵנִי
But You, O GOD the Lord, deal kindly with me for Your name’s sake; because Your mercy is good, deliver me.

 

כִּי עָנִי וְאֶבְיוֹן אָנֹכִי וְלִבִּי חָלַל בְּקִרְבִּי
For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.

 

כַּצֵּל כִּנְטוֹתוֹ נִהְלַכְתִּי נִנְעַרְתִּי כָּאַרְבֶּה
I am gone like the shadow when it lengthens; I am shaken off like the locust.

 

בִּרְכַּי כָּשְׁלוּ מִצּוֹם וּבְשָׂרִי כָּחַשׁ מִשָּׁמֶן
My knees are weak through fasting; and my flesh has grown lean without fatness.

 

וַאֲנִי הָיִיתִי חֶרְפָּה לָהֶם יִרְאוּנִי יָנוּעוּ רֹאשָׁם
I became also a reproach unto them; when they look upon me, they shake their heads.

 

עָזְרֵנִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהָי הוֹשִׁיעֵנִי כְּחַסְדֶּךָ
Help me, O LORD my God; save me according to Your mercy.

 

וְיֵדְעוּ כִּי יָדְךָ זֹאת אַתָּה יְהוָה עֲשִׂיתָהּ
That they may know that this is Your hand; that You, LORD, have done it.

 

יְקַלְלוּ הֵמָּה וְאַתָּה תְבָרֵךְ קָמוּ וַיֵּבֹשׁוּ וְעַבְדְּךָ יִשְׂמָח
Let them curse, but You bless; when they arise, let them be ashamed, but let Your servant rejoice.

 

יִלְבְּשׁוּ שֹׂטְנַי כְּלִמָּה וְיַעֲטוּ כַּמְּעִיל בֹּשְׁתָּם
Let my adversaries be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own confusion as with a mantle.

 

אוֹדֶה יְהוָה מְאֹד בְּפִי וּבְתוֹךְ רַבִּים אֲהַלְלֶנּוּ
I will greatly praise the LORD with my mouth; yes, I will praise Him among the multitude.

 

כִּי יַעֲמֹד לִימִין אֶבְיוֹן לְהוֹשִׁיעַ מִשֹּׁפְטֵי נַפְשׁוֹ
For He shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save him from those that condemn his soul.

לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד
For the conductor. A psalm of David.

 

הַצִּילֵנִי יְהוָה מֵאָדָם רָע מֵאִישׁ חָמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי
Deliver me, O LORD, from evil men; preserve me from violent men.

 

אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ רָעוֹת בְּלֵב כָּל־יוֹם יָגוּרוּ מִלְחָמוֹת
Who devise evil things in their heart; every day they stir up wars.

 

שָׁנְנוּ לְשׁוֹנָם כְּנָחָשׁ חֲמַת עַכְשׁוּב תַּחַת שְׂפָתֵימוֹ סֶלָה
They sharpen their tongue like a serpent; the poison of vipers is under their lips. Selah.

 

שָׁמְרֵנִי יְהוָה מִיַּד רָשָׁע מֵאִישׁ חָמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ לִדְחוֹת פְּעָמָי
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men who have planned to trip my steps.

 

גֵּאִים טָמְנוּ פַח לִי וַחֲבָלִים פָּרְשׂוּ רֶשֶׁת לְיַד־מְעַגְּלוֹת מוֹקְשִׁים שָׂמוּ לִי סֶלָה
The proud have hidden a trap for me, cords they have spread as a net by the wayside; they have set snares for me. Selah.

 

אָמַרְתִּי לַיהוָה אֵלִי אָתָּה הַאֲזִינָה יְהוָה קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָי

I said to the LORD, “You are my God; hear, O LORD, the voice of my supplications.”

 

יְהוָה אֲדֹנָי עֹז יְשׁוּעָתִי סַכּוֹתָה לְרֹאשִׁי בְּיוֹם נָשֶׁק
O GOD the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.

 

אַל־תִּתֵּן יְהוָה מַאֲוֵי רָשָׁע זַמָּמוֹ אַל־תָּפֵק יוּרָמוּ סֶלָה
Grant not, O LORD, the desires of the wicked; do not further his evil device, lest they be exalted. Selah.

 

רֹאשׁ סְבִיבַי עֲמַל שְׂפָתֵיהֶם יְכַסֵּמוֹ
As for the head of those who surround me, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.

 

יִמָּטוּ עָלֵיהֶם גַּחָלִים בָּאֵשׁ יַפִּלֵם בְּמַהֲמוֹרוֹת בַּל יָקוּמוּ
Let burning coals fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire, into deep pits, so that they rise not up again.

 

אִישׁ לָשׁוֹן בַּל יִכּוֹן בָּאָרֶץ אִישׁ חָמָס רָע יְצוּדֶנּוּ לְמַדְחֵפֹת
Let not a slanderer be established in the earth; let evil hunt the violent man to overthrow him.

 

יָדַעְתִּי כִּי יַעֲשֶׂה יְהוָה דִּין עָנִי מִשְׁפַּט אֶבְיוֹנִים

I know that the LORD will maintain the cause of the afflicted and the justice for the poor.

 

אַךְ צַדִּיקִים יוֹדוּ לִשְׁמֶךָ יֵשְׁבוּ יְשָׁרִים אֶת־פָּנֶיךָ
Surely the righteous shall give thanks to Your name; the upright shall dwell in Your presence.
