תהילים ל״ב | Psalm 32

 

אַשְׁרֵי נְשׂוּי־פֶשַׁע כְּסוּי חֲטָאָה
Happy is the one whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered.

 

אַשְׁרֵי אָדָם לֹא יַחְשֹׁב יְהוָה לוֹ עָוֹן וְאֵין בְּרוּחוֹ רְמִיָּה
Happy is the man to whom the LORD does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit.

 

כִּי־הֶחֱרַשְׁתִּי בָּלוּ עֲצָמָי בְּשַׁאֲגָתִי כָּל־הַיּוֹם
When I kept silent, my bones wasted away through my groaning all day long.

 

כִּי יוֹמָם וָלַיְלָה תִּכְבַּד עָלַי יָדֶךָ נֶהְפַּךְ לְשַׁדִּי בְּחַרְבּוֹן קַיִץ סֶלָה
For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my strength was sapped as by the heat of summer. Selah.

 

חַטָּאתִי אוֹדִיעֲךָ וַעֲוֹנִי לֹא כִסִּיתִי אָמַרְתִּי אוֹדֶה עֲלֵי פְשָׁעַי לַיהוָה וְאַתָּה נָשָׂאתָ עֲוֹן חַטָּאתִי סֶלָה
Then I acknowledged my sin to You and did not cover up my iniquity. I said, “I will confess my transgressions to

the LORD,” and You forgave the guilt of my sin. Selah.

 

עַל־זֹאת יִתְפַּלֵּל כָּל־חָסִיד אֵלֶיךָ לְעֵת מְצֹא רַק לְשֶׁטֶף מַיִם רַבִּים אֵלָיו לֹא יַגִּיעוּ
Therefore let everyone who is faithful pray to You while You may be found; surely the rising of the mighty waters will not reach them.

 

אַתָּה סֵתֶר לִי מִצַּר תִּצְּרֵנִי רָנֵּי פַלֵּט תְּסוֹבְבֵנִי סֶלָה
You are my hiding place; You protect me from trouble and surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.

 

אַשְׂכִּילְךָ וְאוֹרְךָ בְּדֶרֶךְ־זוּ תֵלֵךְ אִיעֲצָה עָלֶיךָ עֵינִי
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with My loving eye on you.

 

אַל־תִּהְיוּ כְּסוּס כְּפֶרֶד אֵין הָבִין בְּמֶתֶג וָרֶסֶן עֶדְיוֹ לִבְלוֹם בַל קָרוֹב אֵלֶיךָ
Do not be like the horse or the mule, which have no understanding, but must be controlled by bit and bridle.

 

רַבִּים מַכְאֹבִים לָרָשָׁע וְהַבּוֹטֵחַ בַּיהוָה חֶסֶד יְסוֹבְבֶנּוּ
Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but steadfast love surrounds the one who trusts in the LORD.

 

שִׂמְחוּ בַיהוָה וְגִילוּ צַדִּיקִים וְהַרְנִינוּ כָּל־יִשְׁרֵי־לֵב
Be glad in the LORD and rejoice, you righteous; shout for joy, all you upright in heart!

 

תהילים ל״ח | Psalm 38

​

יְהוָה אַל־בְּקֶצְפְּךָ תוֹכִיחֵנִי וּבַחֲמָתְךָ תְיַסְּרֵנִי
LORD, do not rebuke me in Your anger or discipline me in Your wrath.

 

כִּי חִצֶּיךָ נִחֲתוּ בִי וַתִּנְחַת עָלַי יָדֶךָ
For Your arrows have pierced me, and Your hand has come down on me.

 

אֵין מְתֹם בִּבְשָׂרִי מִפְּנֵי זַעְמֶךָ אֵין שָׁלוֹם בַּעֲצָמַי מִפְּנֵי חַטָּאתִי
Because of Your indignation there is no health in my body; because of my sin, my bones have no soundness.

 

כִּי עֲוֹנֹתַי עָבְרוּ רֹאשִׁי כְּמַשָּׂא כָבֵד יִכְבְּדוּ מִמֶּנִּי
My guilt has overwhelmed me like a burden too heavy to bear.

 

נִבְעֲשׁוּ נִמְקוּ חַבּוּרֹתַי מִפְּנֵי אִוַּלְתִּי
My wounds fester and are loathsome because of my foolishness.

 

דָּוִיתִי שַׁחֹתִי עַד־מְאֹד כָּל־הַיּוֹם קֹדֵר הִלָּכְתִּי
I am bowed down and brought very low; all day long I go about mourning.

 

כִּי־כְסָלַי מָלְאוּ נִקְלֶה וְאֵין מְתֹם בִּבְשָׂרִי
My back is filled with searing pain; there is no health in my body.

 

נְפוּג וְנִדְכֵּיתִי עַד־מְאֹד שָׁאָגְתִּי מִנַּהֲמַת לִבִּי
I am feeble and crushed; I groan because of the anguish of my heart.

 

אֲדֹנָי נֶגְדְּךָ כָּל־תַּאֲוָתִי וַאֲנַחָתִי מִמְּךָ לֹא־נִסְתָּרָה
All my longings lie open before You, Lord; my sighing is not hidden from You.

 

לִבִּי סְחַרְחַר עֲזָבַנִי כֹחִי וְאוֹר עֵינַי גַּם־הֵם אֵינָם אִתִּי
My heart pounds, my strength fails me; even the light has gone from my eyes.

 

תהילים קכ״א | Psalm 121

 

שִׁיר לַמַּעֲלוֹת אֶשָּׂא עֵינַי אֶל־הֶהָרִים מֵאַיִן יָבֹא עֶזְרִי
A song of ascents. I lift my eyes to the mountains—where will my help come from?

 

עֶזְרִי מֵעִם יְהוָה עֹשֵׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ
My help comes from the LORD, Maker of heaven and earth.

 

אַל־יִתֵּן לַמּוֹט רַגְלֶךָ אַל־יָנוּם שֹׁמְרֶךָ
He will not allow your foot to slip; your Guardian will not slumber.

​

הִנֵּה לֹא־יָנוּם וְלֹא יִישָׁן שׁוֹמֵר יִשְׂרָאֵל
Behold, the Guardian of Israel neither slumbers nor sleeps.

 

יְהוָה שֹׁמְרֶךָ יְהוָה צִלְּךָ עַל־יַד יְמִינֶךָ
The LORD is your keeper; the LORD is your shade upon your right hand.

 

יוֹמָם הַשֶּׁמֶשׁ לֹא־יַכֶּכָּ וְיָרֵחַ בַּלָּיְלָה
The sun shall not strike you by day, nor the moon by night.

 

יְהוָה יִשְׁמָרְךָ מִכָּל־רָע יִשְׁמֹר אֶת־נַפְשֶׁךָ
The LORD will protect you from all evil; He will guard your soul.

 

יְהוָה יִשְׁמָר־צֵאתְךָ וּבוֹאֶךָ מֵעַתָּה וְעַד־עוֹלָם
The LORD will guard your going out and your coming in, from now and forevermore.

 

תהילים קכ״ד | Psalm 124

 

שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת לְדָוִד לֻלֵי יְהוָה שֶׁהָיָה לָנוּ יֹאמַר־נָּא יִשְׂרָאֵל
A song of ascents. Of David. If the LORD had not been on our side—let Israel now say—

 

לוּלֵי יְהוָה שֶׁהָיָה לָנוּ בְּקוּם עָלֵינוּ אָדָם
If the LORD had not been on our side when men rose up against us,

 

אָז חַיִּים בְּלָעוּנוּ בַּחֲרוֹת אַפָּם בָּנוּ
Then they would have swallowed us alive when their anger flared against us.

 

אָז הַמַּיִם שְׁטָפוּנוּ נַחְלָה עָבַר עַל־נַפְשֵׁנוּ
Then the waters would have overwhelmed us; the torrent would have gone over us.

 

אָז עָבַר עַל־נַפְשֵׁנוּ הַמַּיִם הַזֵּידוֹנִים
Then the raging waters would have swept over our soul.

 

בָּרוּךְ יְהוָה שֶׁלֹּא נְתָנָנוּ טֶרֶף לְשִׁנֵּיהֶם
Blessed be the LORD, who has not given us as prey to their teeth.

 

נַפְשֵׁנוּ כְּצִפּוֹר נִמְלְטָה מִפַּח יוֹקְשִׁים הַפַּח נִשְׁבָּר וַאֲנַחְנוּ נִמְלָטְנוּ
Our soul has escaped like a bird from the snare of the fowlers; the snare is broken, and we have escaped.

 

עֶזְרֵנוּ בְּשֵׁם יְהוָה עֹשֵׂה שָׁמַיִם וָאָרֶץ
Our help is in the name of the LORD, Maker of heaven and earth.

תהילים קכ״ח | Psalm 128

 

שִׁיר הַמַּעֲלוֹת אַשְׁרֵי כָּל־יִרְאֵי יְהוָה הַהֹלֵךְ בִּדְרָכָיו
A song of ascents. Happy is everyone who fears the LORD, who walks in His ways.

 

יְגִיעַ כַּפֶּיךָ כִּי־תֹאכֵל אַשְׁרֶיךָ וְטוֹב לָךְ
When you eat the labor of your hands, you shall be happy, and it shall be well with you.

 

אִשְׁתְּךָ כְּגֶפֶן פֹּרִיָּה בְּיַרְכְּתֵי בֵיתֶךָ בָּנֶיךָ כִּשְׁתִלֵי זֵיתִים סָבִיב לְשֻׁלְחָנֶךָ
Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine within your house; your children like olive shoots around your table.

 

הִנֵּה כִּי־כֵן יְבֹרַךְ גֶּבֶר יְרֵא יְהוָה
Behold, thus shall the man be blessed who fears the LORD.

 

יְבָרֶכְךָ יְהוָה מִצִּיּוֹן וּרְאֵה בְּטוּב יְרוּשָׁלִַם כָּל־יְמֵי חַיֶּיךָ
The LORD bless you from Zion; may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.

 

וּרְאֵה בָנִים לְבָנֶיךָ שָׁלוֹם עַל־יִשְׂרָאֵל
And may you see your children’s children. Peace be upon Israel.

 

תהילים קמ׳ | Psalm 140

 

לַמְנַצֵּחַ מִזְמוֹר לְדָוִד
For the conductor. A psalm of David.

​

הַצִּילֵנִי יְהוָה מֵאָדָם רָע מֵאִישׁ חָמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי
Deliver me, O LORD, from evil men; preserve me from violent men.

 

אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ רָעוֹת בְּלֵב כָּל־יוֹם יָגוּרוּ מִלְחָמוֹת
They devise evil plans in their hearts; every day they stir up wars.

 

שָׁנְנוּ לְשׁוֹנָם כְּנָחָשׁ חֲמַת עַכְשׁוּב תַּחַת שְׂפָתֵימוֹ סֶלָה
They sharpen their tongues like a serpent; the poison of vipers is under their lips. Selah.

 

שָׁמְרֵנִי יְהוָה מִיַּד רָשָׁע מֵאִישׁ חָמָסִים תִּנְצְרֵנִי אֲשֶׁר חָשְׁבוּ לִדְחוֹת פְּעָמָי
Keep me, O LORD, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent men who have planned to trip my steps.

 

גֵּאִים טָמְנוּ פַח לִי וַחֲבָלִים פָּרְשׂוּ רֶשֶׁת לְיַד־מְעַגְּלוֹת מוֹקְשִׁים שָׂמוּ לִי סֶלָה
The proud have hidden a trap for me, cords have spread a net; they have set snares along my path. Selah.

 

אָמַרְתִּי לַיהוָה אֵלִי אָתָּה הַאֲזִינָה יְהוָה קוֹל תַּחֲנוּנָי
I said to the LORD, “You are my God; hear, O LORD, the voice of my supplications.”

 

יְהוָה אֲדֹנָי עֹז יְשׁוּעָתִי סַכּוֹתָה לְרֹאשִׁי בְּיוֹם נָשֶׁק
O GOD, the Lord, the strength of my salvation, You have covered my head in the day of battle.
